Properties: Shiny leaflets from aq ethanol, mp 101-104°. Slightly bitter, somewhat burning taste. Numbs the tongue slightly afterwards. Soluble in abs ethanol, chloroform, propylene glycol, ethylenediamine, dimethylformamide; sparingly sol in ether, 50% ethanol. Practically insol in water. LD50 orally in mice: 840 mg/kg (Stille).
