Properties: Greenish-white powder or cryst masses. Slight characteristic odor; mild, sweet and ferruginous taste. Sol in water; freely sol in alkali citrates forming a green soln. Almost insol in alc. On exposure to air it becomes darker and incompletely sol. Keep well closed and protected from light. LD in rabbits (mg/kg): 578 s.c., 287 i.v. (Venugopal, Luckey).
