Literature References: Prepd by adding a soln of aluminum isopropoxide in isopropanol to an aq soln of glycine: Krantz et al., J. Pharmacol. 82, 247 (1944).
Properties: Very fine powder. Bland taste. Insol in water. Mixes easily with water forming suspensions which do not separate readily. At 25° the pH of the aq suspension (1 in 25) is 7.4. One gram consumes 200 ml of 0.1N HCl under conditions of the pharmacopoeial test for aluminum hydroxide gel.
