Properties: Light-brown powder or crystals; crystallizes from water with one H2O which it loses at 120°. mp 150°, also stated as ~140° with decompn. Soluble in 8 parts cold water, 0.5 part boiling water; freely sol in alcohol, ether; practically insol in chloroform.
