Derivative Type: Hydrate
Properties: Bright yellow, odorless, tasteless powder. Practically insol in water, alc, chloroform, ether; sol in dil alkali hydroxide solns, in hot mineral acids with decompn. Forms a water-sol sodium salt which has an alkaline reaction.
 
NOTE: Major active ingredient of Bongast.
