Properties: Pale yellow, monoclinic needles or leaflets. Disagreeable odor. d 1.42. mp 180.2-181.7° (the technical product mp 170-175°). Practically insol in water. Soly at 25° (g/100 ml) in alcohol: 2.0; ether 1.0; acetone 10.0; benzene 1.0; carbon tetrachloride <0.2; naphtha <0.5. Moderately sol in glacial acetic acid. Sol in alkalies and alkali carbonate solns.
