Properties: Octahydrate, crystals or cryst powder; odorless. Effloresces in dry air; loses all its H2O at about 120°. One gram dissolves in 1.6 ml water, 0.4 ml boiling water, 1.8 ml alcohol. The aq soln is acid to litmus; pH about 4.
Use: In insecticide formulations.
Therap-Cat: Astringent.
Therap-Cat-Vet: Has been used as an intestinal antiseptic, and externally to promote healing of ulcers, slowly granulating wounds.
