Properties: Polymorphic needles from alcohol, mp 174°. bp730 351°. Sparingly volatile with steam. Dipole moment 3.0. Solubility: 0.55 g/100 ml of cold alcohol; 6.71 g/100 ml of boiling alcohol. Freely sol in chloroform. Slightly sol in hot water, ether, petr ether, benzene, toluene, xylene. Dissolves in concd H2SO4 to a yellow soln with pale blue fluorescence.
