Title: Urylon
Literature References: A synthetic fiber, condensation product of nonamethylenediamine and urea. Prepn of such polyurea polymers: GB 900787 (1962 to Toyo Koatsu Ind.).
Properties: Fiber softens at 205-210°, mp at about 237°. Sp gr 1.07. Loses not more than 10% of its strength after 10 hrs of exposure to 40% sulfuric acid or 40% caustic soda at room temp. Also loses strength on prolonged exposure to light or to a temp of 150°. Hydrolyzes at 130° in the presence of steam.
