Properties: Light yellow platelets from aq ammonium acetate soln. Does not melt below 300°. Absorption spectrum: Rickes et al., J. Am. Chem. Soc. 69, 2749, 2751 (1947). Practically insol in water and the usual organic solvents. Sol in ammonia water, in aq solns of alkali hydroxides, and in pyridine.
