Properties: White powder; usually with slight odor of fat. Slowly sol in cold, readily in hot water or alcohol. The aq soln is strongly alkaline to litmus or phenolphthalein, but the alcoholic soln is only slightly alkaline to phenolphthalein.
Use: In the manuf of textile softeners.
