Neurotensin
Title: Neurotensin
CAS Registry Number: 39379-15-2
Literature References: A basic tridecapeptide, found in mammalian brain and gut, having a wide variety of hormone-like activities. Neurotensin has been shown to induce hypotension in the rat, to stimulate contraction of guinea pig ileum and rat uterus, and to cause relaxation of rat duodenum. There is also evidence that it acts as a CNS neurotransmitter. Isoln from bovine hypothalamus: R. Carraway, S. Leeman, J. Biol. Chem. 248, 6854 (1973).
