Properties: Colorless, syrupy, strongly acid liquid. Kept over H2SO4, it solidifies to a very hygroscopic, cryst mass. Miscible with water, alc. Forms readily cryst salts with organic bases.
CAUTION: Irritating to skin, mucous membranes.
