Literature References: Elemental iodine in a colloidal state, stabilized with a suitable "protecting" colloid. Prepn: Chandler, Miller, J. Phys. Chem. 31, 1091 (1927). This iodine is of a brick-red color and was supplied as a powder contg 25% iodine or in the form of an aq suspension contg 16% elemental iodine.
Therap-Cat-Vet: Has been used as an anthelmintic in poultry.
