Properties: White, grayish-white, or light pink, orthorhombic or monoclinic crystals or amorphous powder. Loses water above 140°. d 2.87. Practically insol in water. Slowly sol in HNO3; readily sol in HCl.

Use: As food and feed supplement, particularly in bread enrichment; as fertilizer.
