Properties: Crystals, mp 95-140°. Freely sol in water, alcohol, dioxane, acetone, propylene glycol. Practically insol in ether, carbon tetrachloride, toluene, benzene. 2% aq solns are levorotatory and have a pH of 6.0 to 7.5.
