Literature References: Cr2O3.xCO2.yH2O. A basic carbonate of indefinite composition, contg. 50-55% Cr. Obtained by pptg a chromic salt with a sol carbonate or bicarbonate.
Properties: Blue-green amorphous powder. Practically insol in water. Slightly sol in CO2-contg water; sol in mineral acids.
Use: Prepn of chromic salts.
