Properties: Yellowish- or grayish-white odorless powder; darkens on exposure to light. Softens under water at about 70°. Slightly soluble in water or alcohol; sol in ethyl acetate, solns of borax or sodium phosphate, or with gradual decompn in solns of alkali hydroxides and carbonates. Incompat. Alkalies, iron salts.
Therap-Cat: Astringent (intestinal).
Therap-Cat-Vet: Astringent (intestinal) for foals, calves, dogs.
