Properties: Hygroscopic liquid, ethereal odor. At low temps it crystallizes in rhombic tablets. mp at 18°; bp 151-153°; d2020 1.55. Sol in about 12 parts water; miscible with alcohol or ether. pH of aq soln is 5-6, but on prolonged contact with water some free acid is formed. Keep well closed and protected from light.
