Properties: Reddish, odorless, tasteless, bulky powder, mp ~230° with decompn. Practically insol in water; sol in alcohol, alkaline fluids.
Melting point: mp ~230° with decompn
Therap-Cat: Astringent.
Therap-Cat-Vet: Externally as astringent, antiseptic (skin lesions and otorrhea). Has been used internally for diarrhea.
