Properties: Colorless powder, mp 229-230°. Also reported as mp 183-186° (LeMaire). Stable at room temp for at least two years. Very resistant to acids and alkalies. Highly sensitive to iron compds which stain it deep red or violet. Very soluble in DMF; slightly sol in lower alcohols. Insol in water, hydrocarbons, vegetable oils.
Melting point: mp 229-230°; mp 183-186° (LeMaire)
