Properties: White to pale yellow, cryst powder; sweetish taste. mp 144-146°. Sparingly sol in cold, freely in hot water, alcohol, ether. The solns in alcohol or ether and particularly in glycerol exhibit an amethyst fluorescence.
Melting point: mp 144-146°
Therap-Cat-Vet: The cadmium salt has been used as an ascaricide in swine.
