Properties: Colorless gas. Crystals when solid. Moldy, acrid odor. Attacks glass and quartz. d (liq; 6°) 2.8. mp 6.45°. Sublimes at 4.77°. Easily forms a supercooled liquid which boils at +4.5°. Trouton constant 26.4. Water dissolves the gas without violence, some decompn. Readily absorbed by NaOH soln.
