Properties: Pale yellow needles from chloroform, mp 268-270°; pale yellow plates from glacial acetic acid, mp 250-257°. [a]D20 -3 to +34° (c = 1.11 in pyridine). uv max (glacial acetic acid): 335 nm (log e 4.57). One part sol in 1000 parts boiling chloroform; in 800-1000 parts boiling glacial acetic acid.
Melting point: mp 268-270°; mp 250-257°
Optical Rotation: [a]D20 -3 to +34° (c = 1.11 in pyridine)
