Properties: Faintly yellow plates from benzene + ether, mp 173°. Sublimes 210-215° at 0.2 mm Hg. Absorption max: Fieser, Hershberg, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 60, 940 (1938). Sol in benzene, xylene, toluene. Slightly sol in methanol. Insol in water. May be solubilized by aq solns of Na desoxycholate.
Melting point: mp 173°
