Properties: Crystals. mp 62-64° (59-61° N.F. XII). One gram dissolves in about 1000 ml water, 0.5 ml alcohol, 2 ml benzene, 2 ml chloroform, 1.5 ml ether, about 10 ml petr ether; also sol in dil aq NaOH.
