Properties: White to yellowish-white, amorphous powder. d15 4.962. Practically insol in water. When freshly pptd it is soluble in glycerol in presence of NaOH; sol in acids. Readily loses one mol H2O forming the metahydroxide which is yellow.
Density: d15 4.962
Use: As absorbent for rutin and quercetin; in hydrolysis of ribonucleic acid; in separation of plutonium from irradiated uranium.
