Properties: Odorless crystals or white, cryst powder; stable in air. d 1.80. One gram dissolves in about 2.5 ml water; slightly sol in alcohol; practically insol in acetone. pH of 0.2 molar aq soln 4.2.

Use: As baking powder with sodium bicarbonate; in fermentations (yeast cultures, etc.); fireproofing of paper, wood, fiberboard, etc.
