Literature References: Approx SI. Obtained by fusing together 4 parts iodine with 1 part sulfur. It probably contains free iodine as well as free sulfur.
Properties: Grayish-black masses of metallic luster and iodine odor. Insol in water; sol in carbon disulfide, alcohol, ether, in about 50 parts glycerol. KI soln dissolves a portion of the iodine leaving free sulfur. Keep well closed.
Therap-Cat: Dermatologic.
Therap-Cat-Vet: Has been used in chronic eczema, ringworm, mange.
