Literature References: Volatile oil expressed from rind of fresh fruit of Citrus aurantium L., var. bergamia Wight & Arn., Rutaceae. Constit. 36-45% l-linalyl acetate, about 6% l-linalool; d-limonene, dipentene, bergaptene.
Properties: Yellowish-green liquid; agreeable odor. d2525 0.875-0.880. aD25 +8 to +24°. nD20 1.464-1.467. Acid no. 1-4. Almost insol in water. Sol in 0.5 vol 95% alcohol, 2 vols 80% alcohol. Keep well closed in a cool place, protected from light.

Index of refraction: nD20 1.464-1.467
Density: d2525 0.875-0.880
Use: For masking many disagreeable odors, such as iodoform, naphthalene, etc. In perfumery, hair oils, pomades.
