Properties: Non-hygroscopic cryst powder, mp 260°. uv max (ethanol): 285 nm (e 805). Practically insol in water. Slightly sol in ethanol. Soly in abs ethanol at 25° = 1.89% w/w; in 90% ethanol = 2.23% w/w; in isopropanol = 0.35%; in chloroform = 0.001%. Sol in cold NaOH solns.

Absorption maximum: uv max (ethanol): 285 nm (e 805)
